Sweet service from the Pokemon girls

So, anyone playing Pokemon for the DS/Gameboy/Whatever system they can?

Let´s just say that I want to play it, mainly because of that I think it seems to be a good game and when I played the first game I kinda got hooked.

The one thing that disturbs me is the grinding. Finding a weak pokemon that you want to use can get quite tediuos. And since I don´t want to get online it kinda adds up on the problem.

Along with having to level your pokemon I also kinda dislike that you have a what it is? 4 abilities and when your pokemon tries to learn anything else than that you have to “forget” something.

And if the current incarnations are somewhat like the first then it can get kinda tedious since you have to have certain skills to be able to move on forward. It is also boring.

But even though I know all of this, I still want to get myself a copy of the latest version of Pokemon to the DS. Just o have something to play on the DS even though I have to many games already to play. Pokemon could be nice addition since I could play it before going to sleep every night. Sure I already got a PSP and Disgaea, Crisis Core, Wild Arms XF and more but still another game couldn´t hurt right?

I do know that if I got myself a copy it would well to 99% be collecting dust since I´ve noticed handhelds aren´t really my kind of game if it isn´t a game that I really really want.

Pokemon has it´s good points, addicting, good gameplay, the trade aspect, the challange, finding every pokemon and all.

But the grinding to level them up, not that much abilities, set skills that you must have on a pokemon or get another of the same type to give the skill to but instead it takes up a slot where you could use another pokemon and more stuff makes me kinda irritated.

That was some thoughts on the games. But as probably everyone knows there is also an anime about pokemon. The least I can say about it is irritating.

Yeah, I know, when I was a kid I watched the very first season of Pokemon in german. Hell it was anime and all anime was good back in those days. Now I just get irritated on the voices, the story, most of the characters, but apparently the girls aquire a fanbase since they get these nice images made after them. Mainly the girls are DFC but in Pokemon Advanced the girl seemed to have gotten some assets…

I wonder why. Did Nintendo get bored of doing DFC characters or why did they change it? I know Nintendo isn´t responsible to for the character design(but I think they have to say “ok” to the design?) but still, why the sudden change?

And team rocket… In the game they are atleast a bit challenging. In the anime they just get blow to pieces in every single damn episode. They try to catch Pikachu and have been trying that for I don´t know how long. So it is kinda irritating to see it every time.

It´s also irritating to see that basically all eps have the same structure: They walk around, get into some kind of trouble, someone appears to help them, then they get a new friend, Team Rocket appears, they catch a pokemon by foul means and pikachu, some new found pokemon trashed the machine Team Rocket uses and Pikachu blows them into the air.

But if you like the game and have been watching this since the first ep I guess you´d like this. I don´t and the reason I watch it is to have time flow by faster since like today I was tired and my legs hurt, taking it easy in the sofa and just leaving the TV on to show whatever show is airing is a great way to recover.

To conclude: the games are addicting, but have some flaws that make them not that much playable. The anime is made of fail except for the fanbase that makes good images of the girls
