So, we need to get something checked out and thus I created this.
One of the reason I choose Arthemia Premium as a theme for this site is because of the headline and featured sections.

Going for broke…

New toy

Apparently I thought I had saved up enough funds to do something about my need wishes of a bigger and FullHD TV. This doesn´t come as a suprise to anyone since I´ve already asked for games. But boy this is great.

The quality sucks I know. Since I seem to have misplaced my usual camera I have to fall back on my mobile phone, which in truth sucks so all the nice details and such do not make an apperance here. But it will give a overview of everything.

Pretty fun to go bananas and buy stuff. This was something I had been going on about for a long long time. Now I finally got my thumb out of my behind and started research on how I could do to make everything work. The result is the following: My subwoofer is now gone. The shelfs that I was using is placed on a higher level making room beneath them and I´ve moved my old CRT TV to the other side of my room. Then I could get a nice TV thanks to the way it is standing.

The cost? Not that much actually. But not something I want to discuss :p

shielded

A very smart design on the package, remove two plastic thingies and then just lift the box straight up and this is what you are left with. Pretty nice and easy. Makes it so easy to unwrap this beauty.

Standing

Nice red finish to this TV, just looks really nice even with the protective plastic on. I just love it already before even playing or watching something on it.

How sweet

My bad camera skills along with the shitty camera in the mobile phone doesn´t make this screen justice, it looks just fabolous and I just love it. Valkyria Chronicles is such a nice game to test out your new TV on as it really is well designed and just makes the whole thing worth it. Sweet scene as well from the movie the runs if you let the game go without doing anything.

DVD looked great, I don´t have any blueray movies to play so I can´t say for that. But I guess it will look sweet. But this isn´t all that I bought this time around. I feelt that I needed more space so yet another Samsung 1TB harddrive to replace my 500GB one along with

Another package?

This little beauty. I´ve needed wanted a monitor that has a 1920×1200 resolution for so long and now it just clicked and I bought this as well. Makes you wonder why I did this, but I can´t complain. Such a wonderful screen it is.

nice screen

Unpacked with the protection taken away. Looks kinda big doesn´t it? It is kinda big but oh so sweet, touchpanels for menus and such aren´t that great but what a image it is!! So clear and nice I just can´t tell you how nice it looks.

Shameless self indulging

Once again, my skills with the camera sucks and so does the camera, but a little image of my setup now. One Samsung 24″ monitor and one LG 22″ monitor. Not as big or manial as moyism´s version but oh my. This is as far as I can go.

Boy oh boy, this is just brilliant and works and looks beautifully and wonderful. I´m just so happy I can´t describe it. I´m happy I saved so much and that I could do this. Who needs funds for the future when you can have this much fun today? I´m still saving funds for the future, don´t be misslead by my words.

For the moment anyway…

    I am still using a CRT TV in the lounge and a CRT monitor for my desktop ; ;

  • TehShien says:

    Looks very expensive :p
I can understand the TV, but your old screen looks big enough for me D:

  • Zeroblade says:

Likewise, I still have a 21″ CRT TV from the 80′s for my PS2, and an AOC 19″ LCD for my computer. I genuflect at your TV’s (and spending power). OTL

Shin: Wow. That´s all I´m going to say. I bow my head to you.

TehShien: Not that much actually. A lot of funds got taken, but still, worth every penny when you see the result :)

Zeroblade: I have a 32″ CRT TV for retrogaming, or I used it for retrogaming before I got this TV. And from the looks of it I´ll continue to use the old CRT TV for retrogaming as it looks way better on that kind of screen.

Yeah, my spending power arose for a little while there, now it´s back in save every penny mode. Unless I decide to do something stupid, but that is for the future to decide.

I’ve always loved Eizo monitors, but look at their 24″ offerings – brokeback expensive (as in it rapes your wallet). I’ve been eyeing Samsungs for a while now, cheap and thin, minimalist bezel is all I want.

Why’d you buy two though, you could just hook one up to your computer and your PS3.

Never used Eizo monitors so I don´t know anything about them. I took a chance with this monitor as I don´t know anything about Samsung and monitors. But I guessed they were as good as their LCD TVs so then I had nothing to worry about.

Sometimes, being expensive is good as it will give you better performance and stability. I don´t know that much about monitors to give or take that impression. This was on a weekly sale from the store that I got it from.

I didn´t buy two. Or yes, I did order two monitors, one for me and one that my dad wanted. The setup I´m using at the moment is 1 24″ Samsung and 1 22″ LG that I had previously.

I wanted a new LCD TV that had FullHD as I can actually see how much better quality it gives of than the HD Ready TVs.

That and I wanted to see how these glorious games like Valkyria Chronicles and Okami turned out in FullHD. Persona 4 looked absolutely brilliant.

What are the specs of the LCD Monitor? As far as I know majority(if not all) 1920×1200 monitors are not well compared to 1680×1050 monitors, which is why I have not upgraded yet(still using my 1680×1050 Samsung 22″ Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD Monitor – High-Gloss Black). Once I find a good 1920 I’ll finally start using some dual-monitors for the first time.

Still on my old 40″ Plasma HDTV(720p/1080i the highest, my contrast is pretty bad though if you compare it to dark-theme games it’s good but not as good as quality HDTV nowadays), even though it’s getting old I won’t be upgrading any time soon just yet. PS2 games @ horrible pixels popping out/etc besides that old plasma aren’t very friendly still play PS2 games on it looks good but no good to SDTV, one day(+5 years lol?) I’ll purchase a good Sony BRAVIA HDTV supporting both 4:3 & 16:9/10 ratio.

    Let´s see here:

It´s the Samsung LCD Syncmaster 2443BW

    20 000:1 in Contrast, dynamic
    5ms response time
    300 cd/m2

Anything else you want to find out, sorry but you´ll have to read it for yourself.

My first impressions after a couple of days usage, soon one week and this monitor is great. Only setback is that the buttons on the monitor are all touch with grey text so in my room if I don´t place some light directly on the buttons I don´t see what´s what.

That together with them not being very receptive, you have to press at the exact right place to get the buttons to work.

But when you´ve configured it to your liking and you´re using it, it blows you away. Really nice monitor and I don´t regret getting it.

I haven´t tried out that many old PS2/PS games yet. Disgaea 2 looked ok actually. Persona 4 looked even better on this new TV than it did on the old one. My PS3 titles looked delicious :)

Ar Tonelico 2 looked good, with the nice dialogue screens and such looking even better than before.

  • Reflect says:

Hmm…. LCD Monitors are finally starting out to be well compared to smaller models finally? Might have to look into it sometime this year when I start the new semester. Thanks for the post! :D

No worries. Just wait till I decide to post my next stuff…

It´s bad doing multiple financial posts after eachother, but oh well. Look forward to it :p

And take a look into it. I don´t know how much it´ll cost ya, but oh boy I found this monitor so worth it.
