This will be brief.

Anime is a medium that I love for a few things. It tells a story, it displays artwork, and as you may imagine what Im about to say….it shows off music.

Though I guess it wouldn’t be any surprise to you that my desire to create music came from listening to the various tracks from the Touhou games. Particularly this one.

I used to be a person who didn’t listen to music at all. I had maybe one band that I liked (that was The Killers by the way). But Touhou showed off what I loved most about music, it was able to show off emotion through sound. Sure lyrics can do that, but when the music itself conveys the emotion it becomes something more incredible.

So from then on I had the idea that I should take piano lessons one of these days, and right now I am doing just that. I’m 18 now (was my birthday on the 5th so you know), but never late than never. I’ve been taking lessons for three months now, and they are always fun.

Me and my tutor begin every session with a relatively long “improv” in which we (both) play around with the piano and see what comes out. I’ve started to record these improvs cause they really scream the whole “emotional music” idea I mentioned earlier, and so I ask you to (download and) listen to one and see what you think.
