The fighting
It doesn´t matter how much options, modes and characters a fighting game has, unless the fighting is fun to play you won´t be comming back. BlazBlue takes all that is good from 2d fighting and makes it even better, the animations are fluid and the fighting is just so fun that even if you lose which you will do unless you play like a dirtbag then it will be fun. I have a bad temper with losing some matches I´ll admit that and it sucks that I can´t controll my feelings better.
I´ve been fighting a lot with pKjd from moetron.com and man he is good. Sure he plays Nu a lot of times and I dislike Nu, pressing one button isn´t hard but I don´t have a reason to dislike it, I need to get better to block all those attacks. I succeed sometimes.
Fluent animations, great choice of characters, even though it feels as if Nu is overpowered I have to say that this is a balanced game. Choose a character and train with that character and you can take on almost any character adversary. Nu has a big advantage of Iron Tager thans to him being to big and slow, but if you can get in close with Tager on Nu well… let´s say that it will cost her to get out of there unless you face a good defensive Nu.
Every character has their own “drive”, a set of attacks special and unique to them and only them. Ragna for example drains his opponents life to regain his own, Jin freezes, Arakune curses his opponents, Noel has chain combos, Rachel controlls the wind.
To each their own playstyle that you have to master in order to be truly effective.
