Star Ocean: The Last Hope
Characters
There are as most 8 characters in your party, 4 of them are on the battlefield, 4 are reserves. They apparently tried to play some kind of bingo here when they created these characters.
Edge is hero-material, some mystic power that helps him survive when in crisis. He is also softhearted, a bit to emotional, likes to act before he thinks.
Reimi is the childhood friend of Edge, she shows that she has a crush on him quite early on along with being concerned for him. All while not wanting others to worry about her.
Faize is a noble alien. Who admires Edge and thinks of him as strong. Along with being a good swordfighter he has some magic skill as well. Something is troubling him and he wants to help everyone and takes it as a personal insult if something would happen to his friends.
Lymle is a spoiled brat that does things her way or no way. She starts to soften up when she meets Faize and the rest of the gang. While being adapt at magic and keeping her own “pet” Cerberus(flaming dog) she isn´t really that smart. She acts more on feeling and says everything that she wants without thinking ahead.
Bacchus is a robot, his body was struck with disease and thanks to his mission he transfered his brain into a robot one. Being a scientist he thinks ahead and is polite. But a bit slow and even though his body is cold steel he proclaims that Edge has a heat around him even he can tell.
Meracle is a small cat-woman with tail and ears that started out shy thanks to the way she was treated before but opened up to Edge thanks to him being a lot like the only friend she made before. Being a cat she likes to eat and if something catches her nose then she might try to find it and eat it. She takes a liking to Edge pretty fast…
Sarah is a featherfolk, she has wings on her back, but she can hardly use them. Anything else than gliding is to much for her. She is a no-brainer that acts more on feeling that anything else. To much hard words and she won´t understand a thing. Being bad at melee fighting she is the classic white mage. Mainly healing spells along with some buffs/debuffs and some holy attack magic.
Myuria is a wonderful beautiful busty woman that is out on a revenge trip against one of Edges friend for killing her husband. Adapt at magic she has a strong sense of justice and likes to tease Edge, always calling him a boy.
Arumat has bad luck. He has given himself the nickname of “Death” as any friends that fight along with him will end up dead. Being agressive in his fighting style he uses a scythe with deadly precision. Wanting to die he leaps into every battle with a fury that not many would stand up against.
As you can see there are plentifull of clichés to the characters. Not that I mind thanks to all the comedy but somewhere along the line I would have liked something new.
