Summary

Wow, I just love this game. I found the tutorials a bit hard and not that easy to understand. When you start using FS you have to beat two guys. And since they can cancel your artes which you have to use to be able to use the FS it is a pain in the behind.

The AI could be smarter, if you have 1 HP left and you´re the last one standing against a boss you don´t run straight at him. Which has occurred more than once for me. But the characters are lovable. There are some slapstick humour.

Hey, no complaints here. I prefer

For starters, there are a lot more to laugh about when you play this game. There are also sad times thanks to the story. But spoiling that is not something I want to do.

The battles are fun and they have a depth if you want to give them that. I usually go for long combos, but I haven´t succeeded in getting more than 49 hits. One of the characters likes to take the battles up into the air so… I can´t follow. I´m a ground fighter.

I don´t want to talk that much about the characters, since in a way it will spoil the game for you. But one short notice I can give you all is that the characters are really good and well made. They act alive and some things could just as well have been said by your friend. Classic stuff :p

I have tried to also ignore the graphics factor in this review, as I feel that it would otherwise take away a lot of things. And with me playing on a FullHD TV it probably won´t be the same for everyone.

The length is pretty good. Sure I´ve done some sidequests, but as I watch and read more I realize there are just so much more to do that I haven´t done that I could have done. But starting over from the beginning is a no way. I want to finish the game. Then when I´m finished with it I can decide whether to start over to get what I missed the first time. A friend of mine has played this over 700 hours. So maybe you can see how much time you can put into this. And if I wouldn´t get tired to easy I would probably try to beat him at it.

So this is a great entry in the Tales of series and I recommend it to anyone who wants to play a great RPG with a most addictive battle system. And cute cuddly characters you just want to bring home.

All in all a great game.

Grade: 9/10 – if the AI was smarter then this would be a 10/10 score. But I´ve gotten so irritated on that damn AI so many times I just can´t gold it in any longer and it gets one point down in grade for that. IT is that annoying. Otherwise I can´t complain at anything. Just a really really good game.
